I played Folk City in about 1980, part of the Sunday afternoon women singer/songwriter series. I was listed as Mary Young back then. Now I'm Mary MacGowan, with a new CD released - Morning Glory.

The photo is me with the guitar, Marcia Pelletiere, Nina Sturgeon, and Paul Goode temporarily hiding behind me. And yes, Robert, this was around 1980-81-ish! Robbie Wolliver took over the gig at about that time. I remember seeing Gerdes maybe once or twice. Eventually that building, still on 4th, became the Kettle of Fish, or something like that. My first open mic night at Folk City was in 1976.
